Moveme Solves Today's Moving Nightmares

Moveme.com, the specialist home move service, has launched its new website today, set to revolutionise the move process for the 3.4million Britons that move home every year. The site aims to drastically reduce the time and money it costs homemovers and renters every time they move home, whether they are moving hundreds of miles or simply to the next street.

Registered movers have access to a range of services including free and unlimited use of the moveme.com MoveplannerTM, an online calendar which can be set up in seconds, specifically designed to feature all the key moving tasks and the dates when they need to be activated, including self generating change of address letters to all authorities, banks and credit cards.

Keith McNeilly, co-founder of moveme.com, commented:

“Moving home can be one of life’s most expensive, time consuming and frustrating experiences. The motivation behind moveme.com was to take away a lot of the hassle, to simplify the process and to save users time and money - from as soon as they have identified a property, through to when they move in and even beyond.

“This new site is simple and easy to use, guiding users through their entire moving process. New functions include the ‘moving buddies’ tool, which allows users to assign tasks to friends and family who are moving with them and enhanced personalisation of the of the Moveplanner™. The site has also been expanded to benefit a wider audience, with both renters and buyers now being able to use the planner to arrange their moves.”

New property index to track UK’s moving habits

At an event being held in central London today, moveme.com will combine the launch of its new website with that of its first Migration Monitor, the biggest ever survey of Britain’s moving habits. The Migration Monitor, a quarterly index, will track the UK’s hot spots and not spots, identifying moving trends and the motivations behind moving both to and from some of the UK’s most popular and least popular destinations.

Speakers at the event will include Brent Hoberman, founder of lastminute.com and a backer of moveme.com and Channel 5’s property expert and developer Gary McCausland.

McNeilly, adds:

“Today’s launch marks not only the unveiling of our newly revamped website, but also our Migration Monitor an in-depth analysis of the UK’s current moving habits. Today’s movers are faced with a very different market to those looking to move just a year ago but regardless of the different climate, home moves are still taking place - since the start of 2008, we have already had over 20,000 movers register with our site.”

Moveme.com has also launched a number of white-label versions of the MovePlanner™; current partners include AOL, MSN and Loot as well as estate agent Connells and Sequence. It is also working on products for a number of other portals and estate agents, to compliment their existing web offerings.
